WHY DO YOU RIDE: Because it is cheaper, faster and more effective than any other form of transportation in Ottawa, at least for relatively short distances. It is also fun. As an added bonus, it is less polluting in all ways: air pollution, space pollution, and noise pollution.

IF YOU COULD CHANGE ONE THING ABOUT BIKING IN OTTAWA WHAT WOULD IT BE: I wish there were more dedicated bike lanes (and good ones too – like in Amsterdam http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XuBdf9jYj7o )

FAVOURITE SPOTS TO BIKE: I like to ride around my house in Hull (Gatineau Park and Lac Leamy), but I primarily ride for transportation – so that means to downtown Ottawa and the Glebe.

IF YOU COULD CHANGE ONE THING ABOUT BIKING IN OTTAWA WHAT WOULD IT BE: IIt’d be nice if the snow was cleared from the bike lanes and pathways in the winter, there are a few of us that ride when it’s cold! And maybe some retro 80’s era PSA’s to remind drivers and cyclists to share the roads, that’d be fun.

FAVOURITE SPOTS TO BIKE: I love to ride the Rideau Canal pathway, cross the Alexandra bridge to the Sentiers des Voyageurs. Ride until the Champlain bridge onto the Ottawa River Pathway and back home on the Rideau Canal pathway

FAVOURITE PLACE TO STOP AFTER A RIDE: For a glass of red wine at the 107 Fourth Avenue Wine Bar and Cafe
