NAME: Alice Olivia Clarke
OCCUPATION: Owner and Head Designer at TÍRA Radiant Accessories (TÍRA Reflective Accessories) and Mosaic Artist
WHERE YOU HEADING: I’m on my way to meet my husband Kári at Mooney’s Bay beach to enjoy some of this wonderful sun! Soaking up as much as possible before we head back home to Iceland!
WHAT ARE YOU RIDING: My wonderful Raleigh that I keep here in Ottawa at my parents place. Bought on a trip several years ago, it was completely refurbished down to it’s old Brooks saddle.
WHY DO YOU RIDE: I ride to relax and spend time with family. Whether I’m visiting Ottawa or home in Iceland I love cycling to get around, grocery shop and to use the time to think. I like to come up with and develop new ideas for my line of accessories, to design new products that I feel people would enjoy wearing. And to be inspired by other cyclists and how I can make them safe while still staying stylish.
IF YOU COULD CHANGE ONE THING ABOUT BIKING IN OTTAWA WHAT WOULD IT BE: Well, to be honest, i was surprised that people didn’t wear more reflectors, and that some people didn’t even know what reflectors were. Considering the dark in summer, it was quite something to see how invisible people were. A reflector or reflective accessory can make all the difference on a dark night. For cyclists and pedestrians alike.
WHAT ARE YOU WEARING:
- Dress:Uniqlo – bought in London./li>
- Jacket: Jacob
- Earringe: from Sarah at Flock boutique
- Helmet: Cambridge Gold Yakkay Helmet from Scooteretti (makes me feel like a jockey)
- Glasses: Gucci Sunglasses that I won
- Accessories: TÍRA Radiant Necklace, TÍRA Radiant Band, TÍRA Radiant Flower
- Shoes: My favourite cycling heels.

FAVOURITE SPOTS TO BIKE: I love biking down the canal and around the market. In Iceland, I love biking by the ocean, which is right by my house, or hopping on the bus and cycling down the main street in Reykjavík.
FAVOURITE PLACE TO STOP AFTER A RIDE: While in Ottawa, The Market is always top on my list to stop for a bite to eat. Better yet is finishing my journey at Mom and Dads. Home is always best!
