NAME: Chayle Cook
OCCUPATION: Apprentice Goldsmith
WHERE YOU HEADING: Home from work in the Byward market.
WHAT ARE YOU RIDING: Trek
WHY DO YOU RIDE: It is fun, economical, and eco-friendly. I get around places downtown fast, I don’t pay parking, I enjoy the wind in my hair, and the freedom of riding a bike.
IF YOU COULD CHANGE ONE THING ABOUT BIKING IN OTTAWA WHAT WOULD IT BE: That the bike lanes and paths would be integrated into traffic better. Numerous bike paths end into busy traffic with no direction of how the cyclist can continue and merge in. It’s really dangerous.
WHAT ARE YOU WEARING:
- Top: Mango
- Skirt: Vintage school girl’s gray kilt
- Flats: Dolce Vita coral flats/li>
- Earrings: Enamel patterned earrings
- Helmet: MEC Skater boy
FAVOURITE SPOTS TO BIKE: The aviation park way, the bike path along the river in Hintonburg/Westboro, and any smooth roads when there are less cars around.
FAVOURITE PLACE TO STOP AFTER A RIDE: The Somerset pedestrian bridge at night, the inukshuk sculpture beach in Westboro, and the stone ruins and garden in Rockcliffe.
